The river has cleared and now is a good time to have a fish as there is plenty of water in the river.

The bucks are running around in small bachelor herds with spikers at the moment and the doe’s are mostly pregnant. Remember if you shoot a spiker you are shooting a potential future trophy.

It’s starting to warm up here and the occasional black snake can be seen. Hunting has now extended to 12 months of the year due to numbers

There are still quite a few foxes getting about and I have seen them near camp as well on the lower cultivated field. Skins are still in good condition this time of the year.

There are a few bookings available for October and this is a good time to pick up an unwary yearling that has left mum.

It offers camping sites and bow hunting opportunities for Fallow Deer Wild Goats, Fox, Rabbits, and Feral Pigs. In addition there is fishing available along the Severn River for Murray Cod and Yellow Belly.

Severn River Park is only a four hour drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
